Today I received an adult male that was caught in a trap. He is especially unhappy. As you can see in the picture his muzzle is swollen and bloody from trying to get out of the trap. He also broke two of his canines, torn the skin up on the side of his muzzle in his mouth, and wore down multiple toenails just because he wanted to be free. He came to me severely infested with fleas and had flea dirt caked up on his lower half. In the pictures below you can see him getting his bath and the picture helps to show the importance of how devastating fleas can be. Opossums, as well as all other animals, can become anemic and die from having too many fleas on them. I'm looking forward to being able to get this male back out in the wild where he belongs, and hopefully he will be smart enough to know not to get into anymore traps.
